Into the wild: how realistic are artistic renderings?
In this short survey we want to study wether people consider artistic computer renderings of landscapes to be realistic. To test this we have collected a sample of both computer rendered landscapes as well as photos from the real world. Since we want to test if the features in artistic landscapes are considered realistic, not if people can see if a landscape is rendered, we have applied a "van Gogh"-filter to all pictures.

The question we want you to answer on each of the drawings below is: "Knowing that this picture has gone through a "van Gogh"-filter, how likely do you think it is that the features depicted in the artistic renderings could exist in the real world? We use a 10 point scale where 1 = completely unlikely to 10 = completely likely"

Taking this survey should take about 5 minutes.

Thank you very much for participating!
